We stayed at The Cavendish Hotel on the Chatsworth Estate last October and loved the area and Chatsworth itself. The Devonshire Arms in Pilsey is also lovely, but more casual. We had a room in the farmhouse with a four poster bed and it was very comfortable. Note it sems every village in Derbyshire has a pub/inn called the Devonshire Arms so you DO need to specify Pilsey to get the correct one. Great stay in a very friendly country inn. All the staff were super friendly and helpful, the Guinness was great, the bed was really comfortable and I look forward to coming back. One note if you’re an American like me— don’t just ask Siri to get directions to the Dog & Partridge because apparently there’s a pub with that name in every village, lol. When I finally got to the right one, though, it was worth it!
