The fact that Hotel Europa is slightly off the beaten path (though ON the tram line) counts as an advantage. While I stayed at the Europa and enjoyed quiet surroundings, companions stayed near the Hauptbahnhof and had a terrible time with the noise of night-long partiers and seedy surroundings. We booked a room level above the standard room and have stayed at Fleming’s for about 15 years. The room is large, clean and comfortable with euro style beds and bedding. The room we get has waist to ceiling windows on two sides with a view of the main train station. It has air conditioning, which can be a challenge to find in Germany, but useful if it is warm because you can sleep with the windows closed and not be interrupted by city street noise. Though we were one of the first customers to stay in this new hotel, this hotel was amazing. It was clean, it was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. There were some areas where they were still putting on the finishing touches, but those areas did not detract from the stay.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Service, staff and amenities were great. The bedding was very comfortable. The one thing that we didn’t like was that the breakfast was rather pricy and wasn’t worth it. I didn’t appreciate all my children being charged as adults.
The staff was overly accommodating, attentive, and friendly! They saw that we had big bags and were quick to help bring them up the stairs to our room. The garden of the hotel is absolutely beautiful and the entire place is quaint, quiet, and peaceful. The metro to the city was quick and super easy to navigate. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in paris! Just be aware, the building we stayed in had no elevator, which poses a problem for those with mobility challenges.
