It was in a quiet neighborhood. The restaurant was perfect. The breakfast was outstanding. The service from all staffs were excellent. I would go back in a heartbeat.
This was one of the last places I stayed on a four week vacation. It was probably the nicest of all the places I stayed. I was quite impressed. The staff was helpful and friendly as well.

I liked the guest kitchen with microwave, coffeemaker and filled refrigerator. The hotel takes the risk counting on honest guests. I really felt good about it.

Great for walking or bike riders. Easy drive to dozens of historic towns in Thüringen for daily trips. Impressive staff all around. 5 star service received. Great food, all top level. Worth a revisit.
I was quite pleased with my stay here. It was perfect and economical for my purposes. The staff person was quite nice and helpful, and while the front is not open all the time, it's easy to get in and out.
It isn't a town that is open all hours, so don't expect to eat late at night, but it's definitely charming and the hotel was a part of that!
Hotel Herzog Georg is a real gem hidden in rural Germany. The size of room is larger than a standard European room and we were very happy to have 2 large size doubles for my wife and 15 yr old son. This was a backup choice after our 1st choice was not open for business via another booking service. It's further in the hills of Thuringia but we'll worth the drive. The rooms are well done and immaculate, the restaurant is incredible, and the staff does well with English only travelers for a remote location. If we are back in this area, I will look this one up.
