The state park is a pay-to-drive-in park which is annoying, Colorado. So, we didn't go. Don town Trinidad was a fun walk around, and we spent a couple of hours walking and talking to folks, grabbing a coffee, and looking at the architecture.

Our hotel staff recommended Sunset Bar and Grill for dinner. It's located in the Day's Inn. What a pleasant surprise!! The curry was delicious as was the grilled salmon. Old town Trinidad is so quaint, architecture beautiful.

I haven't been there in over 30 years, and some of the growth has been good. I especially like this location and the trail around it.

Enjoyed our stay. People are very friendly and found some great restaurants.
"The Victorian decor was beautiful! The room was super spacious with a nice sitting room & separate, but private, bath. Lots of grab & go breakfast options. We’ll be back! "
"Conveniently right off of I25. Grounds are lovely. Restaurant onsite. Breakfast was great! Room is nice, quiet, comfortable bed, good shower, clean. Keurig coffee maker is great, small refrigerator and microwave great. Fast, easy, accommodating check in courteous and friendly staff We recommend and would stay again "
"The hotel was wonderful! We stopped just to sleep during a roadtrip, and I wish we could have stayed. The room was very spacious, the staff was nice, the area was beautiful, location was good! And breakfast was early! We needed to leave before breakfast started, but when we were leaving the front desk said breakfast was early so we ate! It was the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had. The only thing was the bathroom smelled very strange; I had to hold my breath. But overall, I still give it 5 stars! "
"Very clean. Employees were very friendly. Breakfast was waffles, sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches, breakfast burritos, yogurt, pastries, fruit, juice and coffee and tea. "
"Thank you so much. The staff is always nice and the restaurant is pricey, but fabulous food. We always stop at this place on the way to Denver from southern New Mexico."
