You might want to get your camera out and head to Quirigua Archaeological Site— just one of the landmarks located 3.3 mi (5.4 km) from central Los Amates.
Castillo de San Felipe de Lara is just one of the landmarks located 0.5 mi (0.8 km) from central San Felipe de Lara, so you might want to stop by for a few pics during your trip. You could also start your cultural experience by heading over to the museums in the area. It's also full of great shops and restaurants, so you can spend the afternoon having a wander.
Whether you want to collect beach glass or watch the sunset, Playa Blanca is a spot you might want to check out, located 8.2 mi (13.2 km) from central Livingston.
The only thing I was unhappy with is that breakfast was not included with the Expedia reservation. However, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available for purchase at the hotel as it has its own restaurant.

What a nice little hotel this was! I stayed here with 5 family members recently on a visit to Copan Ruinas. The room was cozy and the beds were comfortable. The complimentary traditional breakfast was made fresh each morning and was delicious. Many thanks to the owner Blanca who was very accommodating and even waited up until 1:00 AM to check us in after bad traffic from Tegucigalpa turned our 8 hour drive into a 15 hour one. Offering a low room rate, great service and a great location make this...

I love the property...this is my second time staying there in 6 months and won't be my last. Proposed to my now fiancé during my most recent trip in March of 2022.

This is truly a unique and amazing place to stay. You are right in the middle of the jungle, with all that entails. The cabanas are small but comfortable, with a nice bathroom. They do have air conditioning as well, which is a must in this area. The onsite restaurant is convenient and reasonable. Most of the staff, including front desk, we encountered over 4 days did not speak English, but we were able to piece together communication. There is a lot of walking to get to the cabins, some of...

Tucked away far from the bustling heart of Puerto Barrios, this charming property offers a serene retreat for those seeking to unwind. While it is an older property, it is impressively well-maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and having a young lady on the team who spoke English fluently was a tremendous help for our limited Spanish skills. The on-site restaurant, Mangoes, was a standout,...
