The best thing about the hotel is the Onsen! The price was also reasonable. The hotel is a little on the worn side but still in good shape. It does have a shuttle to/from the echigo-yuzawa station but their hours are limited. The last pickup is 5:30pm if you miss that you will need to hire a taxi (expensive), take a bus (also limited hours) , take the local train to the iwapara station and then a 4 min walk to the hotel (the train is about 1 per hour) or you can walk to the hotel (about 45min)

This place was absolutely wonderful! My first time experiencing an onsen and it was amazing. The shuttle pick up and drop off from the train station was great. Went here March of 2016 and had an Amazing time. We arrived at the train & took a taxi to the ryokan [900¥], the staff was so nice they took in our luggage and we went to the snow monkeys [30 min inclined walk to the monkey park gate] or a quick 5 min taxi ride to the gate [900¥] the ryokan does offer a free shuttle at 11am to the monkey park, make sure not to miss that. The rooms were clean and quiet. The staff helped us find a private Onsen across the street due to our tattoos. It was awesome....
