"The hotel was clean and welcoming and the husband and wife team were friendly. It's in a lovely location and within 5 minutes we were deep in Anagach Wood which is a dog walker's paradise! The longest loop is about 2.5 hours but plenty of shorter options. The food and drink at the hotel were also a highlight - compliments to the chef!!"

"Excellent location for a short stay. We stayed in the maxwells which were very comfortable with all the right facilities. My only suggestion would be to provide split bins for waste and recycling (landfill / plastic and tins) along with a tub for compostable waste. "

I would have loved to explore more of the Cairngorms from this location; I bet it would be the perfect place to stay for that too."

"We had a really nice room, it had a king size bed and was very tastefully decorated with a modern bathroom and walk in shower. Breakfast was freshly made and very nice. Would absolutely stay here again. Plenty of free on street parking and a big car park across from hotel. Alyth itself is really nice with lots of individual nice wee shops. Would recommend it."

"We stayed three nights at the Hotel Square in Tomintoul. Although this is an older facility which could use a few updates to rugs, curtains, etc., we were very happy there. The hotel is clean, beds are super comfortable and the rooms are large and supplied with everything we needed. Breakfast was very good! Most importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful, providing great service. We had a lovely stay!"

"Very nice one-night stay. Lovely building and grounds. A bit too cold to enjoy the outdoors, but the gardens and general outdoor areas are very nice indeed. Would be fabulous on a nice warm sunny day. Rooms are large and comfortable, although facilities look a bit dated (not necessarily a bad thing if you like things old-school and traditional). Lovely staff, very welcoming. "
