History Museum in Downtown Orlando
Visit the Orange County Regional History Center for an insight into Florida’s rich heritage through a range of exhibits and exhibitions over 4 floors. Located in the city’s old courthouse, the not-for-profit museum was established in 1942 and specialises in bringing 12,000 years of Florida’s history to life.

The Orange Country Regional History Center is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution, which means there are a number of unique exhibitions and events that take place throughout the year at the museum. The permanent exhibits range from the history of the first people in the region to over 100 years of tourism in Florida, as well as the modern theme park era. The museum also features some great interactive displays about Walt Disney, as well as a large collection of over 17,000 photographs of the county.
Tickets cost $8, with children under 4 years old getting in free. Parking is available in the garage across from the public library, in the heart of downtown Orlando. You can also access the museum using the Lymmo bus, a free bus service that operates from a number of spots in the downtown area.
