Fuengirola

What you need to know before you go

Fuengirola basks besides the seaside in southern Spain’s Costa del Sol, attracting a healthy mix of families, couples, and soon-to-be expats. While its sprawling beach is a haven for swimmers, sunbathers, and water sports junkies, the town also boasts nearby golf courses, and a great selection of shops and restaurant.

Unsurprisingly for this portion of Spain, there’s also a booming nightlife, particularly on the beachfront. There’s a handful of attractions too, including Biopar Fuengirola, a zoo featuring animals from Asia and Africa, and Sohail Castle – a 10th-century Moorish fortress, which hosts festivals and a medieval market come summer.
