Sapporo Satorando or Sapporo Satoland is a farming experience facility situated in Higashi Ward in the city of Sapporo. This vast area is full of activities for learning about farming and experiencing it first-hand. At the Experience Farm, seasonal vegetables are harvested from May to early November. This is a great chance to observe how Hokkaido’s agricultural products (corn, asparagus, potato and onions) grow in the field.

At The Puppet Theatre for Children Koguma-za children can immerse themselves into exiting stories and the world of tiny handmade dolls. Situated just a 5-minute walk away from Nakajima Koen Station on the Subway Nanboku Line, the puppet theatre is Japan’s first public puppet theatre. Here you’ll be welcomed by puppets performing in a play at the entrance.
For families with small children, weekday performances are ideal because they’re relatively short (45 minutes). On weekends, hour-long puppet shows are performed with varied programs each month.

Sleds and snow tubes are free to rent. With a ski escalator in the middle of the course, it’s easy for children to go up to the mountain as many times as they like. The Ski & Snowboard Zone is best suited for kids who trying out skiing and snowboarding for the very first time.

At the Historical Village of Hokkaido open-air museum in the Atsubetsu Ward you can let your children play and enjoy themselves while they learn something about history and culture.
