The hotel is located on the crater of Crater Lake. The view is breathtaking, there is hiking around with amazing views. The service is excellent, the food is good but the best is the view. I hope I will be back and spend several days there.

This hotel is paradise! The staff are kind, generous and available around the clock. Our safari guide Daniel was the best in Africa - he found baby lion cubs, two leopards (usually elusive), baby elephants, baby giraffes, hippos out of the water, and exotic birds - and was very knowledgeable about the land and animals. This was my first stay at the intrepids camp and it was an amazing experience. From our fantastic game drives to the hotel service, every experience was beyond my expectations. Great staff and we highly recommend Raph as the game driver. He was well experienced and found us a leopard every day we went out, not to mention all the other amazing animals as well.

Ashnil has great facilities, delicious food, and VERY comfy accommodations. Their staff is very attentive and take great care of you. One of the aspects that I feel are especially important is the location of the camp. It is situated on the banks of the Mara River and right in the middle of the Masai Mara Reserve. Some of the other "camps" are located closer to the entrances and therefore a longer drive to be in the heart of game drive country is necessary. This is my second time to stay...

Everything is beautiful! Up close and personal encounters with zebras water bucks and monkeys. Very pleasant staff. Exciting hippo viewing. Wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Food is the best we have had in Kenya. Nearby Crescent Island is a “don’ miss” animal experience!

Great place for the money, very secluded and unique

Their dining is superb, unlike any safari oriented place I've ever stayed, which is over 30 times. Their menu is extensive, and I mean first-class. You order one hour before because it takes time to create great food in the wilds of Masai Mara.. Simply amazing. I would go back just for the food. Their overall service is excellent and the lodging/tents are fine. Maybe a little more lighting would made the women happier (my wife). I cannot say enough good things about Elephant Pepper Camp! I stayed for 4 nights with my wife on an 18 day honeymoon, and out of all the places we stayed, including 5-star hotels in Cairo, Nairobi, Dubai, and the Maldives, we had the best service and the best food of all at Elephant Pepper. Mara Major Camp is the perfect place to stay for an authentic Kenyan safari experience. The lodge staff are local Maasai that truly make the place special. We were the only guests at the camp because we stayed at the beginning of the rainy/off season and they were so attentive to us, taking care of all our needs.
