DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sighisoara - Cavaler
2/10 Terrible
"I booked a stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sighisoara - Cavaler through Expedia. Upon arrival, the receptionist clearly told us that we did not have a reservation and that the hotel was fully booked. Showing her the booking confirmation from Expedia did not change her position.
After some discussion with the receptionist — who was not helpful at all — we were told to contact Expedia ourselves to resolve the issue and find another place to stay for the night. We ended up calling Expedia five times, navigating endless automated menus before finally reaching a real person. In the end, we had to find a new place to stay late at night on our own.
Although I received a refund after four days, I would never book with Expedia again. It cost me a lot of time and energy to fix their mistake."
"I already miss the hotel. The staff were warm, gracious, and exceptionally attentive. The property itself is beautiful, elegant, and very comfortable. I highly recommend it."
"It’s a bit of a triumph for form over function, and despite being modern and quirky, it’s also falling apart a little. Nice though and very nice helpful staff. "
"The hotel was in a superb location with stunning views. We enjoyed the stay and loved the alfresco experience in the square in the evening with lights and coziness.
The choice of breakfast was simple but we loved the freshly cooked omelette which set us up for the day wandering around the citadel. The only gripe we had was hair on the salami tray but it happens when you have buffet breakfast with guests. "
"We come here every year but this year the dude at the reception put a dent in our stay as soon as we arrived.
Zero communication skills. Absent from the reception every 10 minutes he would disappear for 10-15 min.
He refused to open the doors between our rooms claiming he does not have a key.
His colleagues confirmed that was a lie.
We had to change our sleep configuration (small kids) which was a major inconvenience to say the least "
