The island is beautiful and secluded with a sandy beach and amazing natural surroundings. The cabins are beautifully designed to compliment the natural setting, taking advantage of cool cross breezes and incorporating solar power and hot water. The staff was also phenomenal, as was the food. My friend and I had one perfect night on Chumbe and came back refreshed and relaxed.

We stayed at Kileleni January 2-4. It opened 6 months before and is away from the main beaches. It also sits on the cliff. For beach goers, this may not be ideal. We loved the location because it was very chill and had everything we needed. The bungalows are spacious, clean and well appointed. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was great as well. We definitely recommend!

Africa Safari Camp gives you the full safari experience. Don’t expect a 5-star hotel with A/C and perfect amenities. That said, it was an excellent stay. The safaris that were arranged by the camp were great, with a shout out to our guides Innocent and Manaynu, who took us around Selous Game Reserve for 6-7 hours on 2 different days. Saadani Beach Camp has a stunning location, right outside Saadani National Park, with private cabins looking out over the Indian Ocean. We loved the view from the upper level of the main building, with a 360 degree panorama of the park and beach. The staff was great, gave us a warm welcome, and arranged several game drives into the park and a hippo-watching cruise on the nearby river.
