An oasis of good service in the south Caucasus, especially after the flag change to Doubletree. Young, friendly, well trained English-speaking staff. In Yerevan and elsewhere, unfortunately, expect to be taken for a ride by some who will invariably try to overcharge you/rip you off (some taxi drivers, some restaurants-even national chain ones- and even stores), but despite it all it is always good to get back to the hotel and feel at home again with friendly staff, and the country itself is...

Clean and cosy

Nice hotel, clean, decent size rooms and comfortable bed. Front desk speaks English and is very friendly and helpful. Shower has rain option, and is nice and hot for a long time. Very central to everything, easy to walk to whatever you want to see.

Hotel has a great location across from Vernisage weekend market. Larger well maintained rooms. I had a junior suite with small balcony; although not much of a view. Hotel is well maintained, with attentive staff. Only complaint is the variety and quality of breakfast buffet. Very unusual items that would have been better suited for a lunch buffet. In Yerevan on business for a couple of weeks, I fled the gorgeous but overpriced Marriott in Republic Square, and moved a couple of blocks down the street to the Republica. What a contrast! Starting at the reception desk. Marriott: Snooty, cold, and totally uncooperative, despite my Gold Elite status. Republica: Welcoming, warm, and accommodating.
