"I booked and prepaid for a three-night stay in Vienna through Hotels.com. At check-in, the front desk informed me that the charge they were placing on my credit card was only a deposit/hold for incidentals. Unfortunately, that representation was inaccurate. After returning home, I discovered that the hotel charged my card again for the full cost of the room, despite the stay already being paid for through the booking platform. This resulted in two separate charges for the same three-night stay. What is particularly concerning is the lack of response since then. I have contacted the hotel five times over the past week requesting clarification and resolution and have received no response whatsoever. Errors can happen in hospitality operations. However, mischaracterizing a charge as a deposit and then failing to respond to multiple attempts to resolve a billing issue raises serious concerns about billing practices and customer service standards. For transparency to future guests: if you book through Hotels.com or another third-party platform, I strongly recommend reviewing your credit card statement carefully after checkout to ensure you have not been charged twice. I would appreciate a response from hotel management to resolve the duplicate charge and clarify the property’s billing practices."

"The room was clean, spacious, warm (we stayed in January) and well equipped. We were able to check in earlier than we thought which was a bonus. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice and staff always helpful and friendly. Hotel situated about a 10 minute walk to the tram station with a direct route to the centre. Nothing to fault during our stay."
