Fantastic view, warm welcome from staffs, clean room condition

We used this hotel as a stop over whilst flying in and then out of the airport the next day. 10 minutes from the airport. Clean, comfy beds and a nice shower. Couldn’t of asked for more. No breakfast but we didn’t need it as we were catching an early flight out

We were on the last two days of our 6 day trip throughout Malaysia, starting in Kuala Lumpur and Sandakan. We wanted to wrap up the holiday with two relaxing days at a resort, doing much of nothing. We arrived at the Jesselton Ferry facility via taxi from the airport. A quick ride arriving to find the Gaya Island Resort was the only ferry desk to have an enclosed, air-conditioned room to await our departure to the island. Awesome location to enjoy the Saturday & Sunday Gaya Market. Comfortable with basic facilities. Highly recommend if you're planning to explore the nearby area.

We arrived 1:30 am after 11-hour bus ride and the Jesselton was just what our weary bodies needed. Check-in was rapid, the bed was welcoming.

We chose this resort because it looked laid back, homey, and natural. It was exactly as we expected. It might not have all the trappings of a high end resort, but it's the kind of place you can just feel good about. The gardens are peaceful and not overdone. The pools are nice - one in the sun and one shadier - and have children's areas. We traveled with our two small children and stayed in the family chalet. It was spacious enough for my three-year-old to run around in and had nice wooden...

These guys know what they're doing. Absolutely amazing communication immediately after booking. They send you all the details. And tell you to update them when you're on your way. So if you're lost they will help you find the way. The interior design, the lighting, the quality and finishing, the marble used. You would think you are at a 5 star hotel. But the prices are waaaaay more attainble and what you're pay for. You are getting a bargain. Just the quality of toilet paper they're using...

I really like my stay, and if I were to come back here, I would definitely stay in the same hotel. The staff were very helpful and the accommodation was even better than I expected.

Very good location. Close enough to walk around town yet far enough to be away from the karaoke noise. Airport bus is only RM5 as compared to RM 30 for a taxi. And the stop is right outside the hotel. The hotel only have one brochure for daily tour. The tour company is good but the hotel does not have a concierge to help answer any question. Breakfast is not bad either.

The staff were all nice and kind, very professional. The hotel was ok, lots of movie memorabilia. The restaurant next to the hotel serves good food. Area around the property is not pleasing, it's dirty and smells. The city is great, with lots of stores around. They should keep it cleaner, no littering. My room was small but overlooking the sea. Nice view from my room.
