When we booked this hotel, we somehow thought it was in Marbella and right on the beach...we were wrong on both counts. It is in Casares (near Marbella) and is about a 5-minute drive up the road from the beach. No matter, it has its own private Beach Club with prompt shuttle service. While the Beach Club is beautiful with a wonderful restaurant and spectacular pool, the beach itself is very uninspiring. This was a great stay. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was good, and the staff was super welcoming. The only improvement I would recommend is enhancing the internet coverage, as the signal was weaker than we expected.
The hotel is located near every convenience imaginable: supermarkets, local bars and tourist bars/restaurants as well as the beach within a 5 minute walking distance.
If you want to feel you are living in a traditional Andalusian home with a glorious courtyard and have modern conveniences, this is your place.
I will certainly return when next in Estepona.

I stayed at El Pilar last March and returned for one night because of the service, location and beautiful property. The front desk is always helpful and always wear a smile. The recognized I had been there in March, so check in was easy. The roof top bar is awesome as is a light breakfast downstairs.
Love our stay it was clean and in a great area. The staff was very helpful and we really enjoyed our time. Would go again.there is many restaurants in the area if felt very safe . We loved Estepona great place we also did a day trip to girbraltar which was fun. The people there are very friendly and the beach and bars are just steps away.

The apartment was super clean, great to have all the amenities you need, and loads of space with huge balcony and amazing views. The beds were confortable. The area super calm, access to a private parking is a plus plus for shopping. You need a car to move around as its a bit far away from the center. But by car you are 5min away from shops and restaurants.
The pool was a nice to have. And the service all along the residence were super friendly.

We had the best stay at the boat house! Everything was super clean and comfortable - and it feels like they’ve thought of literally everything you may need. They had an excellent guidebook, easy to get to, easy parking, and even free bikes to use to explore the area!
