Hotels in Pipers Meadow

"My main complaint was no air conditioning in the lobby and it was very hot and stuffy. There were many people waiting for a room. We all waited in a very uncomfortable lobby area where they were repainting so we had those fumes to deal with too. Cruise ships disembark early in the morning and there were many cruise passengers waiting. The hotel did not check anyone in until 3:00pm. I went upstairs and the maid told me that many rooms were ready much earlier. Why can’t they check in one party at a time as the rooms are cleaned? Especially knowing that their lobby is unbearable. When I was finally given a room, we went upstairs only to find that the room was not ready. On top of that the toilet was not flushing. For the most part, the staff was friendly. The property is old and run down so you get what you pay for. Final complaint, although the airport is only 10 minutes away, the shuttle only leaves once an hour, on the 40 minute mark. Our shuttle driver drove so fast, he sped through 2 yellow lights and hit 2 curbs at a high speed when turning right. Scary ride."

"This was a really great spot! It was very close to Clearwater Beach and it's amenities, but you were removed from it all at the Sheraton. The beach is enormous and has so much space. My son and I were able to play baseball catch and not be within 50 yards of the nearest people. The pool was very nice and clean and the staff was always helpful. The Mainstay Tavern on site had great food. My son, who has celiac disease, said that he had the best gluten free hamburger he has ever had. If you do want to go into Clearwater Beach, the trolley can take you right in. Beware of things being extemely busy on the weekend in Clearwater. Overall, it was a great stay and my son said that he really wants to come back.... only longer the next time around. "

"Loud!!! Loud!!! Loud!!! Motorcycles racing by. Trish at front desk said she gave me the quietest room and it was the LOUDEST room next to the wheelchair elevator!! It was pretty loud the whole time. Also, needed a late checkout and the manager would only give me 30 minutes extra and the hotel wasn’t even full. Also, the bed was SUPER HARD!! My back has been hurting the whole trip. "

"Overall, it was a good stay. It appears the current owner is making good effort efforts to make the place a decent place. But it still needs work. I was unable to get shampoo for the first few days, my bath would not feel because the drain didn’t have a plug, some noisy guest that appeared to be more like long-term tenants. But the staff was really nice and overall it was a good stay. Also, every single lounge chair in the pool area was broken so I was not able to relax by the pool. I suggest they remove the broken chairs. They do not make a nice decoration. They’re more of a tease which I did not appreciate. I would stay again though."
