Hotels in Cooleys Rift

"We stayed at the Smokehouse Lodge and had a terrible experience in our original room. The check in process was smooth and being transferred to another room was smooth but that was the extent of the good parts. Our original room seemed clean on entry but there was piss in the toilet which should have been the first red flag. We just flushed it and said no big deal but when we tried to go to bed we ran into more issues. The sheets felt a little gritty and when we got out our flashlights we realized there was dirt and glass shards towards the foot area of the bed. Our sheets had not been cleaned. I immediately returned to the check in desk and because it was already midnight we decided to stay and get a different room. The next room was cleaned thankfully but the mattress was insanely uncomfortable. The front desk worker said they were having trouble getting good cleaning maids but that is no excuse - if a room hasnt been cleaned appropriately it should not be rented out. I would recommend staying at a different hotel."

"Asked for towels staff said I had to wait until the next day, trash was full no where to throw trash away, toilet was dirty, had to slam the bathroom door so hard for it to shut. 2/5"

"Everything was very nice. Clean, friendly staff. The only problem was the elevator wasn’t working. We were given a room on the 2nd floor so only one flight of stairs and only one night we were staying. So it wasn’t a big deal. "

"Clean and comfortable. I loved that we each had two good pillows and there were ample towels. Breakfast was the usual highly processed fare. Tried the coffee from their machine but it was terrible. So we opted for the Panera across the road."

"Staff at check in and Staff the next day for breakfast and check out were amazing!!! Very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay again next time I travel through there."

"Beds were comfortable. The room had a refrigerator and microwave but no freezer so couldn’t refreeze ice packs for food in coolers. Maid came to spruce up room while we were out, picked up wet towel but left wet washcloth in shower where I left it. Carpet frayed by door and bathroom had black on floor trim. The usb outlets in light didn’t work. ‘Quality’ inn, not so much. Outside clean, plenty parking and by a Western Sizzling which was excellent."

"Breakfast was mediocre. I ordered eggs grits and bacon. A biscuit. The grits were soup with my scrambled eggs plopped in the middle; biscuit also set in tbe soup. Very messy and unappetizing. Had to ask - after a pretty long wait for someone to appear - then not our waitress - for jelly please. Other than that the place is lovely."
