I had an apartment with a kitchenette for 1 week at the Esplanade. Since I didn't have a car, it was convenient--only about 3 blocks from the Hauptbahnhof and a couple of blocks from the central pedestrian zone. The property itself was attractive with a pleasant breakfast area and a nice enclosed central courtyard. The staff was also quite friendly and attentive. The sauna was a very nice, unexpected benefit at the end of tiring days. An excellent option in central Dortmund!

Clean, large and modern room. I arrived very late, but the instructions on how to get in were perfect. Great place.

Excellent in all respect

This hotel is very beautiful, but food is very limited with little variety. The breakfast was just different types of granola, eggs, lunch meat, and rolls! No toast or pastries which was very odd. The restaurant at night offers salads, fish, and chicken all with risotto which was also bizarre since most German food comes with potatoes. Besides lacking in food choices, this hotel has tons of stairs! Be prepared to cart your luggage up and down them since there are no elevators. Very remote...
