"Really nice hotel. Just off motorway which made it very easy for us to stop overnight while we travelled from UK to southern Spain.
Dogs were not a problem.
Rooms were clean with a TV and a mini fridge.
Breakfast for extra was a lovely buffet.
Will be booking again for sure"
"We've stayed in several paradors and this one was our favorite. The historic building is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable (we got a junior suite with a gorgeous view of the river) and the staff are warm, courteous and helpful. The location is excellent and the town itself is charming. Not only that, but you can hop on a little ferry boat and seven minutes later you're in France! We highly recommend this hotel and hope you enjoy it like we did."

"Staff were brilliant and really helpful on checking in. The bed was firm and absolutely fine. We were only staying a night and so the location near the station and market was perfect. The outside internal garden was a lovely chill space and I would've sat there longer but the flies were biting. The stairs are a bit tricky as we both have balance issues. The staff kindly offered help with the bags. We will happily go back."

"This was a great place to stay for our couple of days exploring San Sebastian. Its just outside the centre but a lovely walk through a pretty park into the centre. We had a basic room which had everything we needed and a lovely bathroom. kettle etc. Pool was really lovely and we also has a really nice lunch in the restaurant. Would go back."

Really relaxing with the pool on top floor, spa and peaceful area. I suggest a little walk in the forest in the morn to disconnect.
Stayed in a junior suite and really enjoyed it with the view on the forest.
It’s a 10-15min bus ride from the old city and very easy to take..
The pintxos food and coffee at the cafeteria was great and unexpensive.

The hotel setting is one of a kind. It's a very old fortress that was converted to a beautiful 4 stars hotel. Everything was done to provide all the comfort you would expect from a luxurious hotel while maintaining the structure intact. It has great character and beautiful and tasteful decoration. The view from the windows is great as well. It is in a walking distance from all the attractions of this small town. The breakfast was superb as everything else in the hotel.

An excellent little hotel next to cute cafes, it’s also a super easy walk from the bus and train stations that eliminates the need for a taxi. You’re probably wondering if you need to stay on the beach—you don’t! We enjoyed a nice little stroll through the streets & public squares each way, stopping for meals and shopping. Friendly staff. Amazing pool. Great location on cliff top, easy walk into town for access to restaurants, etc. yet quiet. Wonderful value for the quality of the property. We had a 2 person studio which came with a well equipped kitchen. We booked initially for 5 nights and liked it so much we extended an additional night. Also very well placed for trips in the area. We hiked to Hendaye (about 4 hrs) and took the train back, day out in Biarritz (we preferred St Jean) , spent the day in the beach, hiked in...

The hotel was great, excellent location close to the centre of the village and right on the beach. Rooms were roomy, staff excellent and the day spa was the big bonus. Unlimited use of the indoor pool which opened up onto the ocean beach.
La Frégate feels like a weathered beach lodge. It is clean and comfortable and the ocean view (and constant sound of the waves) is everything!
The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice (for an additional €13) and the reception area features a full bar, where you can conveniently order a café or cocktail. The local buses go into Bayonne, Biarritz, Guethary or Saint Jean de Luz.

Hotel St-Julian is the perfect way to experience the town and unique neighborhoods of Biarritz. Phillip and his wife are the best of host.
