The room itself was clean. However, we paid for a room with a private bathroom and that was a big problem. There was no partition between the shower and the toilet, so everything just splashed together. But the worse problem, by far, was the ramshackle toilet with an odd flush mechanism that did not work properly. The toilet never fully flushed. And, worst of all, there was a faint but unmistakable and pervasive sewer smell that we endured all night. The next morning, I showed the proprietor everything and she said there was no problem. I think the other room with a private BR was okay, I was able to see it and smell it briefly after they cleaned it. Anyway, we left as quickly as possible the next morning and without breakfast.
