Two night stay

Very pleasant stay. Enjoyed the variety on offer at breakfast. Room was comfortable and clean. Dinner menu was a bit limited and we ate out on our second night. Used lift due to mobility problems. Old type lift where users have to open and close two “doors”. If doors are left open by exiting users, lift is stuck and time and effort used to identify location and close doors. More prominent instructions needed on lift.

Lovely hotel in the style of a country lodge--absolutely charming, wonderful staff, bring back the espresso machine!

8/10 Very good

Personal and mostly nice

The room was clean as was the whole hotel, Warm welcome by a French woman at the reception. Personal interior decoration with all the bird and wild life pictures and the corridor with bird song and brochures. Thank you. The bar area was cosily decorated but there was no one to serve drinks at the bar desk. Breakfast: The bacon and the scrambled eggs had been on heat too long and were not eatable (too tough). As a Scandinavian I missed rolls out of the oven or some artisan baked loafs and CHEESE, cured ham or salami. And boiled eggs. A substantial breakfast but not in our taste. The second morning we went to the nearby bakery instead. Dinner on the other hand was good and I especially appreciated that the menue was changed from day to day. Really nice!

Excellent property in a centralized part of town. Loved walking to the local pub, the Claymore after dinner. Rooms were a nice size and very clean.

Perfect Grantown stay!

Beautiful old building, simple elegant and comfortable. Restaurant staff are especially kind and helpful. Tea time in the lobby is lovely. Bathroom is massive with an old tub for a proper soak after long walks in the area. Beautiful!

10/10 Exceptional

This hotel is in a small village inside the Cairngorms national park, a beautiful location. There are nice walks starting at the village and many more starting a short drive away. The town is not as busy as some other nearby locations like Aviemore. We ate breakfasts and dinners in the attached restaurant, and the food was plentiful and good. The hotel provides many resources for birders.

Old world feel historical property. Nice dining room in restaurant . We had breakfast and dinner included which was good. Good dinner options. Biggest bathroom I have seen in the UK. Connected Bar and lounge equally inviting. Coffee was not good but tea was just fine. Would stay here again. Window drapes need update. But happy with our stay.
Parag, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

I had a big group coming to Scotland so I decided to book the Grant arms for ease. Price was fair and pictures looked great. The property is dated, but the staff makes up for it. There is few plugs in rooms and some guests found their room noisy and struggled to sleep through the night. I was pleasantly surprised by the good night sleep I had but unfortunately the breakfast was a huge disappointment. The scrambled eggs were soggy and tasted of butter solely. Also, they take payment a day in advance so if you’re planning to split payment for the rooms don’t trust the “pay at property” feature.

Nice hotel but room on top floor with no lift access was a problem. 60+ stairs.

Great hotel

We only stayed here one night but really loved the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment. Room and bathroom were very spacious, bright and clean.

Loved our stay here! Such a super cute little boutique hotel in a really cute little town. Our room was very spacious and clean. The location was very central/convenient for driving all over the highlands during our stay.
4-night trip

8/10 Very good

Hotel is a little old / outdated. Breakfast was good! I was expecting a better / warmer welcome from the front desk team. Room is not very quiet but overall comfortable. Someone (staff) opened the door without knocking when I was in the room. Not sure if I would stay there again. Good for the price.
Thiago, 2-night trip

Fantastic hotel for a great price.

A wonderful restoration of an old hotel that has kept all the grandeur while updating for all of the modern conveniences. The staff was our favorite part, they were all super nice and helpful from the front desk to the wait staff in the restaurant. Twin room was very spacious and beds comfortable, the sound proofing between rooms was the only thing that was anything less than 10 but the noisemaker on my phone was all that was needed to drown out any noises. Wished we could have stayed longer to do one of the guided walks as we met one of the guides who went out her way to print out directions to a loch great for bird watching that we could see on our way out of town.

Lovely bit of highland grandeur/history. Mostly just passing through for a local event so didn’t get the full experience. Wee bit expensive for room alone but no complaints about the standards/staff etc bar/dining facilities looked very pleasant
