Probably one of the best 5-star eco-friendly and intimate boutique hotels we’ve ever visited. From the warm welcome by Roberto and the entire team to the exceptional hospitality throughout our stay, every moment felt special. A special mention goes to Namal, whose attentive yet unobtrusive service perfectly embodied the genuine warmth of the staff. The beachfront villas are spacious, beautifully designed, and blend seamlessly into the lush natural surroundings. We especially loved the outdoor shower and the thoughtfully selected scents throughout the room, which added to the sense of tranquility. The secluded, pristine beach felt like our own private paradise. The food and beverage offerings were outstanding, from the à la carte breakfast to the excellent lunches and dinners, all complemented by impeccable service. The spa deserves a special mention as well. The therapist was exceptionally skilled, the treatment rooms are beautifully nestled in nature, and the welcome and farewell drinks made the entire experience feel truly luxurious. It was easily one of the best spa experiences we’ve ever had. Karpaha Sands is a rare place where luxury, sustainability, and heartfelt hospitality come together effortlessly. If you wanted to keep this place a little secret, you almost shouldn’t write a review – but that wouldn’t be fair. Reality actually exceeds the pictures. What makes the stay unforgettable is not only the beautiful accommodation and surroundings, but also the extremely well-organized service through the butler system and the incredibly knowledgeable and efficient restaurant staff. You truly feel seen and cared for as a guest. Behind it all, you can also sense an experienced and highly professional management team clearly working with the guests’ best interests in mind. A place that manages to combine relaxed luxury with genuine care. I would truly love to come back.

An utterly unique experience. Amazing location and hotel. The staff are amazing and the management team are superb at making sure you feel special. An oasis on an incredible beach, no other resorts within miles, great food and beverage at reasonable prices given the standard of resort and service received. Staff are impeccable delivering a luxurious experience in a no fuss manner. A small point, the spa facility does not match the standard of the overall facility though the massage itself was very good. We count our blessings in having stayed here, there aren’t many unspoilt beach destinations like this anymore, the facility, staff and F&B top it off. We hope to return one day.

A hidden gem in the unexplored east coast side of Sri Lanka. The property offers some of the best coastlines in Sri Lanka. The villas are very artfully crafted for a nominal price. The butler service has been absolutely fantastic and Ash has been always smiling and warm. The food is delicious and has a ton of vegetarian and vegan options. Highly recommend this place.

Karpaha Sands is easily one of the best resorts we’ve ever stayed at. The personalisation here is unlike anything we’ve experienced elsewhere — from our incredible butler Namal (attentive, intuitive, always there when needed) to the cell phones provided to reach him at any time, to an anniversary cake, to arranging dinner at our room the last night. Manager Omberto and the entire team were genuinely warm & friendly throughout our stay. The food is phenomenal! Were talking 5* quality across every meal. Hoppers at breakfast, fresh jams, a dreamy tea selection, ceviches and calamari chapati tacos to die for, and a seafood feast that was beyond anything. The starlight cinema with sparkling wine, sweets and popcorn was pure magic. Luxury glamping rooms are stunning — beautiful design, incredibly comfortable bed, indoor tub with salts, outdoor shower, gorgeous lighting and a speaker for music. Days were spent bouncing between pool daybeds, eating and beach loungers with lovely afternoon snack surprises. The massages were so good I had to have a second one. The masseurs were so sweet & gave lovely massages. Beach walks were wonderful morning abs evening and the entire strip felt very private and quiet. The number of stray dogs was quite heartbreaking competing for food, sadly a big problem in Sri Lanka. A mass neutering program would go a long way. A hidden gem with world-class food, exceptional service, and touches we’ll never forget. We will 1000% be back.

Fabulous stay in a little slice of paradise

What a delightful stay at Karpaha Sands on the East coast of Sri Lanka . The beautiful beachfront property, great staff and fabulous food all made for a great experience. The staff here have smiles galore and are very helpful and obliging. The small touches like cookies and chocolate brought to your room in the evening, the complimentary fruit juices brought to your beach lounge, home made jams at breakfast , small taster pre dinner are lovely extras. A glitch on check in had us changing rooms and a bit disappointing start as we had rooms booked for a birthday celebration. An upgrade was offered but did not eventuate. The facilities are designed to really appreciate the sea views and breeze -pool is fabulous. Our favourite slingshot guy kept the pesky crows away. We had a lovely time with our family and friends from Australia. East coast of Sri Lanka is our favourite..Kalkudah did not disappoint. A little slice of paradise
