Very centrally located for tapas bars and restaurants- got great recommendations from reception staff - Buba was particularly helpful & friendly. Great boutique style hotel in the heart of Getaria. Rooms overlooking the sea are superb providing fantastic views that make for a fairly unique experience that was a highlight of our visit. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good with a reasonable selection of quality produce both savoury (meats/cheese) and sweet, selection of hot breakfast options is limited. Driving to the hotel is via a narrow street which is accessed by driving up a small hill on the right just past the traffic lights - this street is not immediately apparent when you arrive and the adjacent street is pedestrianised so it can be confusing, just take it slowly! Parking is available for 2 cars in a garage further down the street @ €15 per night - manoeuvring into this garage can be problematic if one space is already filled. Be sure to check out the Balenciaga Museum in Getaria - top class display of an iconic fashion designer's work.

Outstanding hotel

This is an absolute gem of an hotel. The building and decoration is stunning. Our room had the most incredible floor to ceiling window with sea views. It was spacious and beautifully designed. All staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. The location is fantastic. One of the best places I've ever stayed.

What a beautiful hotel in a picturesque beach town! Splurge to get a room with a view! Staff was amazing and friendly! Breakfast was delicious-coffee, breads, cheese, sausage, fruit, and tortilla. Best hotel by far we have stayed in over many years of touring Europe. Good sized bedroom plus another room with sofa etc.! And a direct view of the sea out of both rooms. Hotel full of character, plus areas, including a large balcony, on first floor to sit with view of sea. Reception staff very helpful. Worth making a significant detour to stay in this hotel - attractive town has good range of restaurants etc.

I booked a room on a Monday evening, deciding on a last minute overnight trip to Getaria on Tuesday morning. The rooms looked nice online, but that's what the internet is about: making everything look nice even if it's not. The hotel and room exceeded expectations in every way. My room had a panoramic ocean view that was simply stunning. To make it even better, the refrigerator was stocked with a variety of Basque beer. When I first arrived, I didn't want to leave the room but would have been happy with that view while enjoying local beer. But I did get out and the Saiaz was close to everything in town. Highly reommended.

Excellent stay at The Saiaz Getaria. Very friendly and forthcoming staff. Breathtaking View of the Bay. Located in the middle of the village with short distance to restaurants.
