Roma Vespahouse was a fairly basic single room but the location was really practical. Less than 5 minutes walk from the main train station and transport hub and it was 20 - 30 minutes walk from the historic Rome centre. It was also very affordable. You sacrificed some comfort for the price but it was a very good room for the price I paid for a solo traveller. I had no complaints. Would recommend again for anyone travelling as a couple or alone and on a budget.

Truely smoke-free accommodation. Many other hotels in the same area are never far away from cigarette fumes wafting into your room, but Vespahouse was a fume-free lillte sanctuary with decent facilities. I had a wonderful stay at Roma Vespahouse. The check-in process was smooth and easy, with clear instructions provided in advance. I had a very good two-night stay at Roma Vesperhouse. I chose a small apartment with a single bed, and it was quite small but had all the essentials, was perfectly clean, comfortable and pleasant. I didn't realize when I made my reservation that I was reserving in a "guest house" and not a hotel. That meant that there is no reception desk and the only staff members I encountered were the (excellent and helpful) cleaners. So, there are some things one should know before arriving. I was sent information about how to get into my apartment, but I missed some essentials. One set of instructions I have began inside the building, but a code was required for entry and I didn't notice that. I had to wait until other people were entering and to follow them in. (So, be sure to read about and note the entry code.) There's one other thing I learned the hard way. At Via Catteneo 22, Roma Vespahouse is in a great location (to my taste). It's a very short walk to the Termini train station, now a much enhanced shopping mall including, among other things, a wonderful Eataly restaurant. But, returning from a lovely meal there, I discovered that the numbers on Via Catteneo are not consecutive: number 22 comes one block past a block with numbers in the 40s. Having been driven to number 22 on arrival in Rome, I couldn't understand what had happened to number 22, and no one I asked could help. It was an awkward moment (or half hour). Still, I had a very good stay.
