Very nice hotel. A few metres down the street is the 24-hour 159 bus which takes you all the way to Oxford Circus (and back). Loved our room and comfy bed. Especially loved the air con and the fact that they kept the older exterior sash windows on the outside but had interior modern sash windows for better insulation and sound barrier.

Great value, ideal location - good to get out of the hectic centre, but only 10 mins by tube & a 5 mins quiet walk from station. Very comfy beds & bedding, great bathroom - it's all I want. Room is basic but air conditioned. Beware if you can't climb stairs though. Pub downstairs with food, no breakfast (not a deal breaker) but coffee stall 10 steps across the road & a Tesco express. Coffee pods in the room too (no decaff though) & milk and water in the fridge. I liked it - would use it again.

The room was very clean albeit VERY small (Room number 3). There was no reliable wifi in our room, and when we brought it up with staff they weren’t that helpful. Offered a different network that also didn’t work in our room. The location is good and the restaurant serves tasty food.

Good location for where I wanted and close to tube station. Staff were helpful. Had food when I arrived as I was early and room wasn’t ready. Food was good. Room was decorated lovely and had hairdryer, iron and ironing board and tea/coffee facilities. It was hot in the room but not hot enough for air conditioning so didn’t use it. Shower tray could have been cleaner and was a little dusty but bed was very comfortable and lovely fluffy towels. Good stay and would return.

We had a good stay overall. The room was a good size, well equipped and comfortable, check-in was good and we also enjoyed a meal in the pub. Until our final evening, we would have happily recommended the hotel and returned ourselves. Unfortunately, our last experience left a very different impression. We returned at around 11pm in heavy rain and walked through the pub to get to our room. The gentleman behind the bar told us the door might be locked and asked another member of staff sitting at the bar. He simply shrugged his shoulders. The door was locked, so we had to go back outside in the pouring rain and use the key code to enter through the hotel entrance. The locked door itself wasn’t really the issue — it was the attitude and the feeling that we were an inconvenience. We felt so unwelcome that we decided not even to stay for a drink. It’s a real shame because everything else about our stay had been good, and we would have been happy to return. Sadly, the way we were treated on our final evening changed our impression completely, and we wouldn’t return. An honest review, as we feel the management should know that what may have seemed like a small interaction to staff actually made a significant difference to our experience.

I just needed to stay for 1 night near to the river and the Tommyfield was both convenient, and good value. Checkin was good, the room was spacious and quiet (except for someone hoovering before 7am), clean and comfortable. The pub looked nice but I didn’t get the opportunity to try it.
