With Cruise ships blighting Lerwick, this country hotel overlooking the sea was a good find. a very individual inn, not quirky but functional. Showing it's age just a tad but would certainly say that it is good value for money (includes a cooked breakfast). Great location for visiting the northern islands of Yell and Unst as well as Scalloway and North Mavine. Roads on Shetland, especially the A Roads are well engineered and maintained so you can get everywhere on Mainland in an hour from here if you have hire car.

The hotel is very well situated for exploring the full area of the Shetland Islands. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is plenty of parking space and there is a fuel station next door and a very good fish and chip shop across the road, both of which are very useful.

Not the fanciest hotel BUT great location and the room was large, clean, comfortable and priced right! Couldn’t ask for more. Parking easy. Dinner was great. Breakfast was wonderful - what a way to start the day exploring Shetland. Ate one night at Frankie’s fish seafood - it was great. Make sure to make reservation if you want to eat at restaurant otherwise it will be take a way. Staff at hotel were great. I would stay here again.

Great place in Shetland

Our experience in Shetland was greatly enhanced by our hotel stay. The staff were very helpful. Particularly Scott and Curtis at breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The amenities were very good and useful. Even though it was a distance from Lerwick it was definitely the correct choice to stay.

Comfortable friendly stay

Charming friendly staff, nice hot full Scottish breakfast included. Easy to find and easy parking. Option of dinner - sadly this is usually for hotel guests only, but they accommodate when they can. We enjoyed one dinner there and it was wonderful. I had the poached salmon and my spouse had steak pie, both delicious. The room was small but spotless, and the bed very comfortable. Would definitely recommend!!

Had a lovely two night stay with very comfy bed and very clean comfortable room, Staff go out of their way to be very helpful and friendly When we arrived it was 11 am and we weren’t due to be in our room until 3 I was being very sick due to our journey there on the ferry And the hotel kindly let us into our rooms at 12 I was extremely grateful .. we will definitely be returning.

It was our first time in Shetland and from the day we arrived the staff could not have done anything more for us they went over and above to help us with places to go things to see . We arrived 5 hours early and they still let us check in so we could catch up on some sleep, Scott and Curtis are just fantastic they also go over and above to help they so friendly and happy which was nice to see and the singing was not to bad either ,The hotel is located in a very central location as there is a Chinese five minutes up the road and a chippy two minutes walk down from the hotel and a coop at the bottom of the hill , that is of course if you don’t want to eat in the hotel as the food is just as good too. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
