Clean bedding, plenty of towels and hot shower. Friendly and helpful staff and the location was superb. Good value for money in the heart of Venice and only 10 minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge or St Marco. Less than ten minutes walk to take the boat at Fondamente Nove to the airport or Burano which is well worth a visit. Good ice cream nearby at Gelato du natura and a good food at Da Gigi restaurant Salizada San Lio. Lovely breakfast and free water all day in the hotel. A simple but good experience for those on a budget.

We really enjoyed staying at Foresteria Valdese di Venezia, which is within walking distance of all the major attractions in beautiful Venice. A special thank you to Barbara at reception, who was exceptionally kind and helped us arrange a late check-out when our train was unexpectedly delayed. The rooms were clean and tidy and there was lots of choice for the breakfast. The only negatives I had was that I had booked the room with a shared bathroom but did not realise (not sure if it’s noted) but these rooms are not accessible by the lift. As someone with mobility issues this was a bit problematic as I could only get the lift to the second floor then had to use stairs to reach the third floor. This was then made even worse when the electric went down on our second day. Overall a good place to stay.

Good location to walk everywhere. Struggled with finding it initially. Staff was helpful and hotel was clean. We didn't have an air conditioning remote at first, but staff came with one within 30 minutes. Elevator is very small and ended up having to carry luggage up stairs. Definitely request room preferences if you don't want to carry luggage up stairs.

Great location, had an elevator and just 7-8 min walk to the main touristy attractions like Doge palace and St Peters Square. Nice hot breakfast with eggs and bacon for an American tourist who is used to hot breakfasts at most ordinary hotels that was incredible because protein consumption in Italy can be challenge unless you are willing to spend > 25Euro/plate. Our room had a canal view and could see gondolas almost all the time. Very close to a big Piazza with a lot of shopping and restaurants. Our bathroom was across the room which was a little strange and felt more like a hostel rather than a hotel room but it was fine at the end.

The room was simple but spacious with a modern bathroom. The whole property was very clean too. The location is amazing; only 10 minutes walk to the main square. It’s also a 10 minute walk from the Alilaguna stop from the airport. Short walk to the Vaporetto boats which are the modes of transport around Venice. The staff were nice and friendly. You also get a continental breakfast which was quite lovely. They even offer a luggage storage onsite which we utilised on our last day there. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great breakfast, nice old building, great location. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars all around was issues with Wi-Fi that the staff weren’t willing to help us fix. We ended up finding the solution ourselves (logging in with a laptop and using the assigned username and password to log in to our iPhones, when the Sign Up to Login option kept failing on our iPhones), but we would have preferred that the staff take ownership of the problem and help us.

First of all, this is not a hotel, but a historic building that has been converted from a religious site into a guesthouse. The staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the accommodation falls short of modern standards. Toilets and showers are shared and located outside the rooms. What they call a ‘private bathroom’ is also outside the room, though reserved for your sole use. Breakfast was below average. On the positive side, the building’s historical character and location are excellent. The staff and management are well-intentioned and striving to address the shortcomings, but structural improvements in terms of hospitality are clearly needed.

The property was lovely and in a really ideal location. Everything was in walking distance. The staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was basic and more continental (pastries etc) but still lovely. The only problem is that it could get quite noise in the morning when breakfast was on but that was due to how close we was to the breakfast hall. No other complaints.

My only issue was that due to religious reasons , I would not stay here had I known that this place prior to becoming a hotel many years ago, it was some kind of church or monastery. This is a great location in Venice, and the rooms have air conditioning! I was there during a massive heat wave, so was thrilled when I walked into the cool room. The complemantary breakfast was quite good, and the staff were so helpful. The property was a little dated, but it had charm. The main reason I did not score this higher was because I could hear everything that the loud couple in the room next to me were saying -- they were a young couple and they stayed up late talking until 1am. It was so frustrating -- I had ear plugs and could hear them through the ear plugs. I think the walls were quite flimsy as I could hear everything word for word. They were not speaking loudly at all. Again in the morning they facetimed a relative, and I heard that, too. I would have gone down to reception to see if there was another room, but reception was unstaffed / closed after 7pm. They do offer an emergency line but I did not call it. Adding that I also shared a bathroom with four other rooms. People on the floor would spend a long amount of time in the bathroom (the single toilet, sink, bidet, and shower were both in there). Sometimes I just wanted to wash my hands after being out all afternoon and i had to wait 10-15 mins to do that because the bathroom was occupied.

The hotel is unique and a lovely place to stay. The staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast staff were first class in their profession.
