Hotel Vanivola was a wonderful place to spend a week on Isle Sainte Marie. Luca and her staff were so welcoming, friendly, and attentive. (For example, I asked about where to find fresh mangoes and "voila" they appeared in my morning salad!) The staff do everything they can to make one's stay comfortable and secure.The location is great--near restaurants and not too far to walk into town.

Best guest I've ever experienced!

All I can say is WOW! From the moment we stepped of the plane until we were dropped of at the ferry terminal we were treated like royalty. The staff are so friendly and attentive. Since my wife and only speak english, we a little hesitant about staying at such a remote destination like Isle Sainte Marie, but Luca made it one or favorite vacations ever. She was more than happy to act as our interpreter and assist with booking excursions for us thru the entire stay and even arranged return travel back to Antananarivo which is quite an involved journey if you are not flying. If you are considering where to stay on Isle Sainte Marie, your search is over book the Vanivola now. The attached photo was taken from the hotel patio where we ate most of meals during our stay.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Très déçu malgré un cadre magnifique L’hôtel bénéficie d’un très beau cadre, d’une superbe vue, les repas sont très bons et le personnel est sympathique. Malheureusement, cela ne suffit pas à compenser les nombreux problèmes rencontrés. Premier bungalow : situé juste à côté de la pompe de la piscine, avec un bruit fort et incessant 24h/24, rendant impossible de profiter tranquillement de notre terrasse. La réponse de la gérante : aller s’installer sur des transats 50 mètres plus loin. On nous indiquait pourtant qu’aucun autre bungalow n’était disponible, alors que le site affichait des disponibilités. Le lendemain, changement de bungalow. Cette fois, un chauffe-eau extrêmement bruyant finit par exploser durant la nuit : près de deux jours sans pouvoir prendre correctement de douche. Un soir, retour vers 22h40 : hôtel fermé, réception vide et personne pour nous accueillir. Après environ 20 minutes, le gardien a finalement pu nous ouvrir et nous remettre notre clé. L’hôtel semble fonctionner avec très peu de personnel. Les employés sont gentils mais peu formés et doivent constamment « demander à Madame ». Ajoutons des draps à la propreté discutable, une piscine à l’eau trouble et l’enfant de la gérante jouant devant les bungalows dès 7h du matin. Vraiment dommage : l’endroit a énormément de potentiel, mais la gestion et l’entretien ne sont clairement pas au niveau. Très déçu de notre séjour.

Kaffe/tea, omelet/spejlæg, baguette ( en dag var det dog foruden da de var løbet tør ) marmelade ig ind imellem også juice. Suveræn beliggenhed. Dog lidt trafiklarm fra eneste hovedvej på øen. The staff really made this a special place to stay

I really enjoyed my stay at Vanivola hotel. The hotel was very nice, but it was Luca and her staff that really made it a memorable experince. Luca treated me like family and helped me with local recommendations as well as booking local transportation. I had an issue with the ferry to the mainland and Luca was there to assist me right away. I cannot recommend her and this hotel enough. A 5 star experience.

Superbe vue sur les baleines qui sautent!

Hôtel très sympas. Personnel vraiment au top. Toutes les demandes étaient prises en compte. Johan nickel, même pour nous organiser des transports. Les filles en salle et au bar d’une gentillesse extrême et le chef avait un bon humour! Bien mangé. Tout est comme l’ile de sainte Marie. On vit en fonction de la pêche, de la météo...etc. Super séjour.
