Absolute perfection hope to stay again very soon

Full marks for everything. Chris went above and beyond to make us as comfortable and as welcome as possible. From gin and tonics in the lounge, to games in the snug and an extremely comfortable bed we would visit again in a second. Perfect location, perfect hotel! Thank you so much for having us Chris!

The building had a lovely atmosphere and was superbly furnished. Bedrooms were spacious and most comfortable. The owners were really friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared. However, although I understand the necessity with a small number of guests to plan meals in advance, the 36 hours notice for dinner seemed rather inflexible.

Fabulous find

This is a find! Not long open it was an entertainment hideaway for Rolls Royce Aero engines... money clearly was not an issue in the past and it shows. Recently taken over by a couple who seem to have a firm view on providing a great experience. The property is really nice, old and comfortable, proper British country house stuff. Furniture, paintings and furnishings build an ambiance of comfort and very gentle opulence. The closest comparison I would have is Gidleigh Park (although Church Farm does not have the 2 Michelin stars yet!). Service is personal and nothing seems to much effort. Christopher, the patron, is attentive and proud of his property, rightly so. Food is great, British with a hint of French would be my view, limited menu and really tasty and well cooked. Large grounds provides a nice backdrop for strolling. Local area has Cotswolds and Bristol close by.

My husband I recently stayed at Old Church Farm for 3 nights. Our visit can be summed up as first class! From the excellent communication before arrival to the moment we arrived and beyond, Christopher (the proprietor) made sure we felt right at home. Whether it was recommendations on local eateries or a nightcap before bed, everything we needed was seemingly at our fingertips. The hospitality and personal touch was worth the visit alone. We were even given a complimentary ride into town the first night which was really helpful, Christopher even gave us a little tour of some of Thornbury’s notable attractions. Make sure you don’t skip out on breakfast; calling the food delicious doesn’t come close to doing it justice. To top it all off, the property was beautifully decorated, full of fascinating history, and well located for exploring Bristol, Bath and the Cotswolds. Thank you Christopher and your wife for a stay we will never forget!

Long weekend for our wedding anniversary

We had a lovely stay for a long weekend for our big wedding anniversary. Very comfortable room and lovely breakfast every day. Only 13amp charger for the EV but that was absolutely no problem as there are plenty of public chargers available round and about and we just used one of those whilst we were out for an evening meal on our first night Fresh milk and bottled water available for ‘proper’ coffee in brew bags and wide selection of teas which was nice and so much better than long life cartons. We stayed in for an evening meal one night which was marvellous. A beautiful house and grounds that made for a wonderful weekend and Chris was very helpful and friendly throughout.

Great stay for a quiet night

I was given a lovely warm welcome after a long journey to get there and felt at home as soon as arriving. The room was perfect, nice and quiet as requested and breakfast the next day was really nice and set me up for the day. Thanks so much i look forward to returning to you soon

Gosh, what a find, I almost didn't want to share this exquisite, homely and immaculate boutique B&B. More and better than a hotel, a perfectly heavenly find. Super king size bed in a glorious room. We will make a reason to come back soon. Full of history but warm and beautifully renovated. And Christopher was such a wonderful host, local restaurant recommendations, attentive but also unobtrusive. Breakfast was simply delicious. .....what a find!

Lovely old Manor House, beautifully decorated. The rooms are very comfortable, great beds. The food is amazing. The breakfast, sets you up for the day and we recommend eating there in the evening.
