Very disappointing stay. You pay almost 400 euros per night but receive a two-star experience at best. It already starts poorly at check-in, where guests are expected to handle everything themselves. When we tried to get information, the reception staff was far from friendly. No one cleaned our room during the three nights we stayed at the hotel. Breakfast was mediocre and overpriced, with nothing warm apart from the standard hot drinks. The so-called “lean luxury” concept feels like a flimsy excuse to offer a budget hotel dressed up as something high-end. We will not be considering Ruby Hotels again.

Location was really good, close to the city centre and U-bahn to get around Vienna. However it was noisy during the nights. Service was good, breakfast was okand it was nice to get speciality coffees at breakfast. Another downside was the shower in the room, where humidity was an issue and there was a funky smell from the sewer.

Nice and functional

The hotel was clean and the lobby and bar area are nicely decorated. The self check-in process is easy and convenient. We stayed in the “nest” room and it is small but worked for one night. It is an easy walk to main attractions and a subway but the area right around the hotel is very quiet at night with not much going on.
