10/10 Exceptional

A unique place to stay and the price is right!!
Rene, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Nice large rooms and friendly staff.

8/10 Very good

Off the beaten path, former health care centre, very few amenities or restaurants nearby.

Rene, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Nice large rooms with new furniture in a quiet small Nebraska town with good access to fishing and hunting.
Michelle, 3-night trip

2/10 Poor

Lawn needed cleanup, halls dark and dreary, no one at desk for check in. Seemed to be an old hospital, and still looked like one. Surprised that a place like this is on hotels.com. Do NOT recommend this place!

Very clean and the room was big and comfy.

A great place to stay.

The hotel room was clean and spacious. The manager made us feel welcome and accommodated us as a group that rented several rooms. The kitchenette was nice to have.

I was pleasantly surprised as to the cleanliness, and quality of this facility. The owner met me there and was wonderful. Hard working ranch family. Good value. Book direct. Take some snacks as there is no gas or food facilities in this old ranching community.

Totally awesome stay. They are still working on some of it, and it will be even better when it is done.
Melanie, 1-night trip

This place is a refreshing jewel hidden off the main path! You won't be disappointed.
Michael, 1-night trip

This place was different from other places I've stayed. The building had been used for apartments, so I actually was staying in a small apartment with kitchen, living room, armchairs and a couch, aside from the usual bedroom and bath. It would be great for folks needing a bit more room for meeting friends or family. There was no breakfast at the Lodge, but a spot down the road had a wonderful eggs and pancakes one.

Great stay out of the way

This is an out of the way stay, meaning off the Interstate, in a small town. BUT if you just need a friendly, comfortable stop overnight, Lewellen Lodge works great! They bend over backwards to accomodate you. The place is quiet and definitely no frills. But dont we all need some of that once in a while?
Kay, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

It was very quiet. The rooms wete very dark, no nightlight. We were uncomfortable not having a staff member on the property.

Wonderful place to stay

We loved everything about the lodge - comfort, spacious, clean, quiet! The only problem we had was getting someone to check us in after having made a reservation online, arriving and calling the number posted on the door. After waiting a 1/2 hr. we found a second number in an advertisement and that person got a hold of the person on site. However, we would definitely stay again.

Very comfortable accommodations. Friendly staff. Highly recommend. Great place to stay when viewing the Sandhill Cranes.
2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very clean, and certainly affordable. A converted assisted-living facility, the rooms are mini-suites, with kitchenettes and separate bedrooms. Comfort and convenience would be enhanced by the addition of bedside stands and lamps, and a small table for eating, etc. The owners/managers are very friendly and accommodating otherwise. Very quiet, and the beds are quite comfortable.
Eldon, 1-night trip

The rooms were nice and comfortable. I plan on staying there again in the future.

Fantastic value!

Clean, comfy and owners are wonderful. I'm a decorator and would love to get my hands on this property and decorate it, but it is roomy with a couch and recliner and kitchen in one area and a separate bedroom with large bathroom... like i said, it is awesome for the price. I'll be back.

4/10 Fair

Inconvenient, no place to eat for 20 miles. No drinks, ice.
Dale, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The lodge is an extended care facility building that is converted to a lodge. Located in a quiet neighborhood. Rooms are spacious and clean, but not a standard "hotel" format ... more of a medical facility arrangement. Bed was extremely comfortable. I will probably stay there on my next trip west.

Worth consideration!

Near a beautiful lake. Older building very solid and quiet. (The grounds need some maintenance) Both the owner and her assistant are very helpful and kind. Our room(s) was very comfortable. One negative: no place to eat after 2:00. Had to travel to the nearby town and that was very disappointing. Plan ahead, please.

Impressed with room- large and comfortable. We were shown to our room in timely fashion. Can’t wait til next summer. Will be better prepared with food and coffee. Nice to have dishes and table wear available.
