The decor is old fashioned but in good maintenance and kind of cute. It’s not a luxury stay - you’re in a cabin on a boat. Staff were friendly though. Breakfast fills a corner but is basic. The main attraction was being on the Danube. I had a river side cabin with amazing views of the river and the Parliament building. It was stunning.

It stank everywhere. As soon as you entered the vessel, there was a stench of “old” and mold. Everything from the floors, to the walls, to the ceilings, needs a total renovation. There are stains everywhere. The beds were ok, but hard. It needed a top-mattress. The breakfast was very boring. Personel was friendly. But that’s litterally the only positive thing I can say. There’s good potential to make this place good and comfy. It has a great view of the parliament building and the bridge. It just desperately needs a renovation.

Location, floating on the Danube River, was fantastic. Wonderful views from our room facing the river. Fantastic views from top deck. Hungarian Parliament lit up at night was my favourite. Loved the breakfast with lots of variety. All staff very helpful. Only downside was the rooms are in need of a bit of tlc but was an awesome experience and would definitely stay again.

Best AC in Budapest

This boat hotel is located perfectly on the Danube river square in the middle of the city. You can easily and with a 2 minute walk access trams, busses and metros. The rooms are cozy with nice interior and has the best AC I have ever seen. Our stay was during a heat wave of 35 degrees C. Our room stayed well under 20. Nice personel and great late checkout service. Will never stay at a different hotel while in budapest.

I recently stayed at a boat hotel in Budapest, and while the experience had its positives, some aspects need attention. The area surrounding the hotel felt safe, and the views of the Hungarian Parliament from the hotel were simply gorgeous. However, the hotel itself requires significant updates. The carpets throughout the property appear worn and would benefit from replacement. Regarding my room, I found the decor to be outdated, particularly the headboard and wallpaper, which show signs of wear. The bathroom was functional but lacked modern amenities, especially concerning the shower system. After showering, the bathroom floor remained wet, and there was no squeegee available to help dry it. This made it inconvenient to use the bathroom at night, prompting the need to shower in the morning instead. Overall, while I appreciated the hospitality and enjoyed the breakfast, the hotel would greatly improve with some renovations and upgrades to enhance guest comfort.
