This hotel was was a perfect budget one night stay while we waited on the coastal ferry to take us south. The room was as advertised and the staff were friendly and helpful. The dumb waiter to move luggage to higher floors rather than carrying up stairs was welcome after a long day of traveling.

Low cost hotel for the night.

I appreciate that they left our room key out for us. We were there to sleep while waiting to go on a cruise the following day. I would say that most of the people who also went on the cruise stayed at another hotel but for the price and distances to the shopping center it wasn't bad. I wish the restaurant had later hours but there was a pub about a block away.

The property is clean and functional and the beds comfortable. Nothing to do with the Hotel but when you plan to stay in Kirkenes make sure there is not a music festival. The noise outside goes on until the early hours of the morning. We were on an early flight out and got very little sleep. The other guests were very noisy as well. There is also pub/club next door with people making a fair amount of noise on the street.

The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and warm. There was no staff there during our stay and when they did show up, they were very unfriendly. Lots of people queued up to try and leave bags and check in. Since there are limited planes that arrive, you'd think they would be there knowing that there would be people wanting to drop their bags - especially when the footpaths are covered in ice. Breakfast situation was odd - we didn't try it after seeing it was a tray left in the kitchen (a converted motel room and pretty bleak). Forget asking for information about the town as there was no one there to ask. Common areas were a bit dirty. It was cheaper than other places in town but might be worth paying a little extra.

I would recommend finding another place to stay in Kirkenes. There is rarely anyone at the front desk. We arrived early and hoped to just leave bags until we could check in but had to wait until noon when the person who handles the front desk decided to acknowledge us. (He tried to address the couple behind us first but they waved for him to help us - thank you kind strangers!) We asked to leave bags as he said the room was not yet ready but then he yelled up the stairs and learned that the room was ready so he gave us the keys. This establishment is pretty bare bones. The curtains are thin and dirty, there is no floor heat or floor covering. There is heated floor in the bathroom - if you know how to turn it on! Speaking of bathroom it was quite small and paper is mounted on the wall behind the toilet - gymnasts would handle it fine but normal folks had better be prepared! The whole room floods from the shower so don’t leave anything on the floor! Finally there is no sound proofing so you can hear everything your neighbors and outside passersby say. To check out, you drop your keys at the (again unattended) front desk and hope for the best! There is a coffee machine in the “lobby” but we didn’t try it. Maybe that would have been a highlight.

Place was FILTHY and very noisy, owner is loud, rude and disrespectful. Derelicts hang out there! In Kirkenes ALL RESIDENTS CALL IT THE SECOND WORSE HOTEL PRECEDED BY THE BARENTS HOTEL. If you want peace and quiet and CLEAN - Do NOT stay here.
