Excellent stay ,staff and service was really friendly and professional. Unfortunately visited on the hottest weekend, thus far and rooms were very hot as no air -con; but had a very substantial fan to help with the situation.. Also helped having real quality cotton sheets and bedding, a must in my opinion. Would happily return.

We stayed here on the night of my daughter's wedding in June (we booked 2 rooms) my daughter and groom booked a room and another couple of wedding guests booked a fourth room separately. Overall lovely hotel and rooms, great breakfast and staff and sufficient parking. I have no hesitation leaving 5 stars. However, despite our request to be seated at separate tables at breakfast time; we were seated as a table of eight (I think the newly weds would have preferred to dine alone) and were left unserved for some time (as apparently they were waiting for the "other 2 members of the party" to arrive). I think breakfast staff should check that all members of a perceived group are happy to be seated together.

We stopped here while cycling from London to Paris. The hotel is very well positioned relative to the bike path and the town is fantastic. Staff provided safe storage for our bikes. We just wished we had more time to spend there

Reception was great: staff helpful and efficient. Parking was adequate. We were given a free upgrade and I’d recommend the room with access to the veranda. Bed was very comfortable. The evening meal was slightly disappointing. However, it didn’t warrant a fuss. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Alfriston is a small Town with several restaurants and bars. Also, a few shops. A short walk to the Church and Clergy house to visit.

Lovely hotel located at the end of Alfriston High Street right behind an ancient church /churchyard. Friendly attentive staff comfortable lounge area and wonderful food. Also spotlessly clean.
