Perfect location for a little hotel. Walking around town was easy. It's an older hotel but the room was clean and bigger than expected. Very comfortable. We loved that we couldn't open a window. I would stay here again any time. I only have 4 stars because those things didn't come up at all. Our key was on the counter when we arrived and I didn't interact with any staff in the 2 nights we were there at all.

One night sleep near a volcano

One quick overnight stay. Staff was very accommodating for our early arrival. Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately, we had to leave early for the ferry departure and weren't able to enjoy the complimentary breakfast.

Guesthouse Hamar is in a great location, only a few blocks from the ferry (leave your car on the mainland if you don’t really need to drive on Westmann Island). The room was a lot bigger than I thought. Shower was a little tight, but ok. Breakfast was included which was good as well. Walls are a bit thin, but there wasn’t anyone up late, so it didn’t bother us at night. Very happy with this 1 night stay.

Comfortable rooms in great location to explore all of the island. Room was good size, with a comfortable bed and a couch for sitting, family owned, with friendly and helpful staff. Easy walk to restaurants, grocery store and the in-town activities including the Eldfell volcano.
