Dissappointing hospitality
We arrived early in the morning (4am) and were told we had no reservation and all the rooms were booked. After a long conversation providing our expedia reciept they finally accepted our reservation and we found the hostel mostly empty. Checking out early the hostel receptionist was not there to let us out for our per hop bus (possibly asleep somewhere). Overall the day-time staff were plesant but the night-time staff was very poor.

Good location, close to the main square. Security was good, room locked and lockers provided. Bed was comfortable and warm, shower was hot and breakfast was okay. Serious plumbing issues - one toilet blocked up and then had hot air coming up from it. The other toilet had no water coming out of the taps and no toilet paper. Couldn’t get the football on the tv. 3 people tried to change the channel to get it but it wouldn’t change for some reason.

Good place to stay in Arequipa
The hostel has a very good location, the staff is friendly and helpful, the roof terace is amazing and breakfast was good too. The only downside is the noise coming from all angles.

Las Tres Abuelitas
We loved this place from the moment that they let us check in early from our overnight 10 hour bus ride! Friendly staff, great hostel vibe, yummy breakfast with a gorgeous view of El Misti from the rooftop terrace! Great location near the Plaza de Armas!

great value, great people, highly recommended
My wife and I stayed in five different similarly hostels in Peru during a ten day period and this one -- while tied for the least expensive was the best. The (clearly marked, easy to find) location was great, close to historic area, there was lots of hot water (unlike two of the others!), the breakfast on the rooftop plaza--(which in itself is a nice setting with view of park below, volcanoes in distance and housing a thermosyphon) solar hot water system--was better than most, the bed (with nice down comforter!) was great. Most important, we were having other travel related difficulties and the management absolutely went out of its way to help at no extra charge! Thanks!

It was cheap--but you get what you pay for
The owner was painting all around, dripping paint, the smell, etc while I was there. My room door would never open correctly the first time. The bathroom sink faucet was almost impossible to turn off all the way. The shower is so tiny it's fit only for a midget. The female manager was nice and tried to be helpful with bus into but it's strange they don't already have some common info. And then I saw her on my very same bus the next day leaving town!!

Good location. Decent breakfast. Helpful staff.
In old colonial style building. My room had ensuite and boiling hot water. A feather duvet. You wont get cold for sure. Had a quirky faded elegance. If you expect perfection go elsewhere but if you want character this is your place.
