8/10 Very good

Good for a short stay

All in all, the hotel is okay. It's getting a bit long in the tooth, and I would describe the facilities as rather basic overall. Room service is only provided when required. Breakfast is okay.

susan, 4-night trip

8/10 Very good

Comfortable and good location

The bedroom was spacious and clean. On the downside the bathroom was tired looking and the shower control not working so very hot water. Could not use.
R, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

My friend and I stayed here as Rye was too expensive. Check is a strict 3pm doors shut. The accommodation was ok. Felt a bit tired but good value for money with a breakfast. Beds and linen comfortable and clean - bathroom a bit tired and shower had no pressure. Overall no complaints for the price of the room. Grounds need a bit of attention.
1-night trip

6/10 Good

Disappointed

Not sure i would class the accommodation as 4*, more like 3*. Room ok, fairly comfortable but small, room and bathroom could do with a bit of a makeover. But shower was rather pathetic-it dribbled water out and was barely warm. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. What was the biggest disappointment was the use of the owner's establishment to put across his political viewpoint. Various signs and statements around the place were very off-putting as not everyone shares the same point of view and certainly do not want this thrust upon your face while on holiday. Therefore would not be returning.

Phil, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The staff and owner made our stay memorable, their attention to making sure their customers needs were met, the rooms were very clean, the restaurant menu was very good and was freshly cooked. This is an ideal place for artists and bird watchers the view from the room is unbelievable, also the bird life sight and sound is brilliant. Can't recommend the Lodge enough. There are places

Ruari, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

The en-suite bathroom was the worst I have ever seen. This hotel does not deserve a 4-star rating
Clive, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

My room was nice and clean with a very comfy bed. The bathroom needed a lick of paint but was perfectly serviceable. Breakfast was superb!
Alan, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Dissapointed

Bad wifi, shower was disgusting so we didnt shower. Bed was dusty and we didnt sleep, mould in bathroom and paint coming off ceiling, false advertising!!! Didnt look at all like the photos, the owner really needs to change things, wanted a nice night away for piece and quiet and relax, couldnt even shower in that thing and got such bad allergies from the bedding. That owner should be ashamed, scamming people like that, that place has so much more potential, its a shame, we checked in, saw the room and left and only came back to sleep, obviously couldnt, packed our bags by 8, tried the breakfast and checked out immediately after.... oh and sign on check in said said no stupid people beyond this point
