Beautiful old hotel with a lot of character and very well restored. The downside is that it turned out quite expensive. Price is much higher on this portal than if you book on hotel's website, parking adds € 13 a night, a very small breakfast € 9,50 a person and + tourist tax. Other than that, the staff is very polite and helpful and the atmosphere great!

Great rooms and breakfast, the hotel was charming and quite beautiful. The gated parking was €13 a day and was super convenient. We opted for a room with a terrace which was only about €10 more a night and it was SO worth it, as it overlooks the city and makes for an incredible sunset view. All in all, an amazing and affordable place to stay in Porto and would absolutely stay again!

Decent enough hotel, would use again if the price was right but will probably try somewhere else for our next visit to Porto. Plus points were a large room and bathroom, powerful shower, hairdryer in room, aircon was powerful, comfortable bed, an excellent central location and there's supermarket very close by. Minus points are there was no fridge, some paintwork was peeling and in need of refurbishment, especially in the bathroom. More thorough dusting needed also (cobwebs and thick dust in skirting boards). Finally. homeless people congregate in the park area opposite the hotel at night. Noisy early morning due to being directly under dining room/reception

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rex. The hotel is in a beautiful heritage building, but the facilities are modern and comfortable. The staff was helpful and welcoming. It's located in a quieter area, but a very short walk to all the action. We will stay here again.
