Room was surprisingly quiet considering it was on the front overlooking the main road from the station to the town centre. Quite noisy on Saturday night but after midnight it became much quieter. Room had 2 single beds which were comfortable and clean. Bathroom was fine but the shower floor filled up with water rapidly.

Good value, strange hotel

Simply put, this is a value for money hotel. Great location for trains, prison and centre and the staff are friendly. A few strange quirks make it unique but may put people off. Entering and exiting through the pub, a very narrow staircase and the shower/bathroom are not suited for larger proportioned guests.

Well impressed

1st time my brother & I have stayed here. We were well impressed. Our room was lovely & warm. Beds comfy. Plenty of tea , coffee etc. large LCD TV in the room. Bathroom was a bit small but acceptable. Given the price of £63 we were more than happy & would book to stay here again.
