though the hotel is quite old and some facilities are not good(e.g. window not easily opened, wifi signal is weak if not on gound floor), yet the staff (Sanjeewa) was very helpful, kind and gentle. the location is superb, and the breakfast is great as well.

Our room was basic ,the bed was comfy. From our room we could see the top of the cathedral. The continental breakfast was fair ,toast cearal,yoghurt, meats and cheese tea and coffee plus juices.We only booked for one night as we were going to the Marlowe theatre. The Greyfies was a good location for the town .The host was welcoming

Central location, perfect for exploring the city on foot, and easy access from the train station Room was clean with hot shower, towels and toiletries, and kettle with tea/coffee: all we needed for an overnight stay after a wedding reception. Sanjeewa made us very welcome and helpfully let us store luggage after check-out. A varied continental breakfast was a great start to the day. Thank you Sanjeewa

The manager, Sanjeeva, is a gentleman, personable, and is very efficient ànd thoughtful in his job, The property is old, but kept impeccably. Breakfast is without frills, but satisfying and well presented. My room was clean and perfect for my 4 day visit. I came by train so can’t comment on parking. I will definitely be returning. Thank you Sanjeeva for a safe and enjoyable stay. William (room 8)

Sanjeewa, Is a lovely man, helped us with the suitcase, parking and is very friendly. Rooms could do with a bit of updating, but was a cheap stay. Also breakfast was in the price and sanjeewa made sure there was plenty for everyone.

The property was a bit tired and dated, my bathroom was very small and as I couldn't open the bathroom door very much due to the bed being in the way, I managed to scratch myself on doorhandle. Sanjeewa on reception/ kitchen duties and possibly everything else was absolutely wonderful. Parking was a 10 minute walk from hotel in a public car park.

A great location in the centre of Canterbury. The owner is most welcoming and kind. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is continental with lots of choice to eat in or take away. I recommend this property for a value for money city stay

The lady running the place was nice. The place is very well located. The place had very old-fashioned decor and a smell like they tried to freshen it up but just made it smell dull and musty we had to open a window. There were pigeons in the loft which cooed all afternoon and very early in the morning. There were neon lights outside that flashed all through the night. There was a truck reversing bleeping in the early hours. The toilet flush was incredibly loud and we could hear the neighbours too.The stairs were quite steep and only had a wooden rail for support. We didn’t stay for breakfast. We were just glad we were only there for overnight and left as soon as we were ready. As we were leaving another couple were being apologised to. Although I don’t know what happened there. Honestly if we had booked for a week, I would probably have complained and left but as we only had it for the night we just left as soon as we could and we won’t be going back.

Sanjeewa was very welcoming when we arrived. The hotel and rooms desperately need updating the tv didn’t work in our room, also the taps were loose and the holder for the shower was broken, however the bedding, towels were spotless and the hotel is in an excellent location. Breakfast was continental and was constantly topped up. Understand this is an old building but a bit of updating would make all the difference.

The hotel is in a great location and the solo member of staff is friendly and helpful and works hard. The hotel itself, however, is tired and poorly maintained. It was a cramped room, the shower was held up by a bit of plastic, and there was hardly any water from it. The bathroom was tiny. For a quick cheap night it’s passable, but any longer than that would not be recommended.
