Unique B&B-like property
This is a unique property! A bit 'out of the way' but is serene and with great views because of it. Still, it is not far at all from the centre of the small town. It is sort of a converted farm with some rooms in each of three buildings one of which has reception and the restaurant.
At first approach one might think, oh my, what have I booked! Is this some old run down property? But then when you see what it really is one might think the opposite - that it is like some very high end lodge. The truth, from my perspective, is somewhere in the middle.
Our room was very large with some period features and modern bathroom. TV and Wifi worked fine, bed was comfortable. The negative about the room was it didn't feel cosy. Need more rugs perhaps. I was disappointed we were provided with only a bath towel and hand towel per person, that was all for the towels. And there was no bath mat, so when you get out of the shower you stand on the cold tile floor.
We had dinner at the restaurant which was upscale and very good. The included buffet breakfast was there too which could have been improved with some better coffee and fresher eggs.
The front desk does close at night, so it's more like a B&B in that if you need something you'd have to ring up the owner. Speaking of whom, the gentleman I assume is the owner was very pleasant and I'm sure if I mentioned my towel issue to him he would have taken care of it. He did give us some useful travel advice.
Was a good choice!
