Great location, easy walk from Sanam Chai station. Our room had a great view of the highly entertaining Chao Phraya river. We enjoyed the rooftop restaurant for both breakfast and dinners. Also close to Grand Palace. Glad we chose the Riva Arun!

We had a wonderful stay at Riva Arun. The staff greeted us immediately after our car arrived, and served us some Thai tea as we checked in. The staff were so kind, friendly and extremely helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The location is superb - walkable to the Flower market, Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. A ferry stop was just a few steps away from the hotel entrance and took you right across the river to Wat Arun. Plus there are many restaurants to choose from. So convenient! Highly recommend!

WONDERFUL! We really enjoyed our stay at Riva Arun. The location was great and that was the priority when we were planning our trip. We planned on being out of the room and exploring most of the time so the hotel amenities were not a real concern. Riva Arun proved to be top notch in every way! We had a beautiful, well-appointed room but what made the stay truly memorable was the staff. Everyone was friendly and always helpful. I would say that they went out of their way, except it was obvious that this is how they treat every guest.

Fab, but...

This is a great small hotel, the premium jacuzzi rooms are superb. The only letdown is check-in, it took almost hale an hour. There were at least six staff there more interested in serving iced coffee. I had to ask FOUR times before someone finally did what was needed, three minutes work took half an hour, very poor front of house with staff acting like children and no-one knowing what anyone was doing.

I liked the rooftop restaurant, which had a nice river view with historical heritages. However, I didn’t like the view from my room from the second floor. In front of the hotel, there are shabby buildings. I was also upset that the room was small and the facility was really minimum, without a bathtub. It was rather old, too. Overall, I think the hotel is overrated and I’d rather stay with globally known hotels next time in Bangkok.

SUPERB

Top class service from the staff. An issue with the first room meant I was immediately moved to another of the same type, premium jacuzzi suite. The whole stay was just amazing and relaxing, just what I needed. The view of Wat Arun of course stunning. My only small moan would be that the wonderful rooftop restaurant was always somewhat chaotic. The staff always seemed in a flutter, getting your first drink seems to take a long time, and food service can be very slow...there are only 15 ish 2 seater tables so the reason for the above mentioned is not obvious. Having said that, the staff are very helpful, the Thai fusion food is excellent but the limited menu seemed to run out of some items very early in the evening. Overall definitely worth a visit, I certainly will stay again. It beats a lot of the high priced hotels on the river in BKK
