Good stay, convenient location
Amy, 2-night trip

Pulling up to the hotel, we noticed the place looked dated and the grounds were messy. The check in area smelled of an antique store and the whole facility was dated. We got to the room and the first thing we noticed was the smell, it smelled of mold. Around the windows was dirty and moldy. The ceiling was discolored. The blanket had a stain on it. The carpets were gross.

Do not stay here . Very noisy .

The hotel and room seems older but we were fine with that . There was a strange smell like candles being burnt to cover a bad smell. Our issue is they put us in a room below the ground floor next to the hot tub . We did not sleep that night . It was noise from the minute we got to bed until we just got up had breakfast and checked out. There was footsteps and furniture dragging above us plus constant talking in the hallway outside our room . Also loud noises of water like a giant toilet being flushed . I think this may be related to the hot tub . The front desk clerk did not seem concerned or offer to rectify .

Beautiful hotel!! We stayed for 2 nights and were totally charmed by its quaint feel. There is a free hot tub and sauna available to guests which is such a nice touch as well. Breakfast was also fantastic. Staff was so friendly and welcoming, one man at reception went the extra mile to walk with us and show us exactly where the sauna was when we arrived and got a little lost- thanks so much for that!! Room was perfect for what we needed it for and you are only about an 8 min drive to the city center. You also get a beautiful view from your room :) highly highly recommend!

Pleasant and Affordable

The rooms are clean and cozy, but very small, which is fine as they are priced accordingly compared to other hotels nearby. My daughter and I enjoyed our time there and would recommend if you're visiting Akureyri.

We absolutely loved this place. Our second trip here and this time we rented a cabin. These are not ordinary cabins, these are small homes with a geothermal hot tub set in a small community setting. There is even your own bbq on a huge deck. We would absolutely comeback… only next time use the cabin as our base camp for the north!
Michael, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Our family of 5 stayed in the family suite which was spacious and comfortable. The one suggestion for improvement would be to add a second sink to the common area, since there was only one shared bathroom. This is at the edge of town, up a hill. I would not recommend for those who don’t have a car. There is a hiking trail behind the property. It is quiet and pleasant.

Summer 2024 Summer Holiday

June 2024 Absolutely phenomenal and immaculately clean 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage~ fully equipped with microwave, oven, stove, refrigerator, hot tub with back out shades, modern design/vibe, tranquil setting overlooking farm with beautiful Icelandic horses. Large living room area with huge flat screen smart tv with Amazon, Hulu, Disney +, and Netflix. Large cozy sectional couch in family room that could easily sleep multiple guests. Perfect stay for our family of 4. Highly recommend!

Ok place

Ok overall. Only stopped for an overnight stay on our drive around Iceland, a little bit outside of town but less than 10 minute drive so easy to get to.

It was ok
Sivaganesh, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

We thought the decor was fun and a great throwback and the locale made for a great view. The staff was overfall really friendly too! We missed having a fridge in the room and also the shampoos and bathroom were never totally cleaned up. What was most challenging however were the limited hot tube hours! We would have used a late night tub as well as morning tub and 5 hours in the evening were not just not conducive to our local travels and explorations,

This place feels like a low-end converted hostel than a hotel. The rooms were in serious need of an upgrade and everything had a musty odor. We were pre-warned about the sulfur-smelling showers, but it still was hard to deal with. Housekeeping was poor as well - trash and used tea cups were left as-is after they were done.
Ashish, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Property not well maintained. Rooms are tiny and not well equiped or furnished
William, 1-night trip

Not a $450 a night hotel

This is not a $450 a night hotel. It is basically a fancy version of a youth hostel. The rooms are tiny. The hotel is dirty with dead plants in the hallway windows and flies on the windowsills. The door we were told to enter through was blocked by dumpsters and trash bags. The entire hotel smelled bad. The elevator was unusable due to the odor. The outdoor seating area was dirty and dilapidated. Laura at the desk was very nice , but couldn’t help. I asked to cancel the reservation, but she was unwilling. We were in Iceland three weeks. Every hotel was great. Look at my other reviews as I post them. I have never posted a bad review until now. This hotel would have been okay at $200 a night.
