Clean room, hot tub was on deck. Super relaxing night. Close walk to main lodge for dinner and breakfast. Sauna was really wuick to heat up and had me sweating bullets. Beautiful views in a great location just off the main Cabot Trail road. Highly recommended. Will return

The food at Cabot Shores was wonderful! The staff are lovely and the location perfect as a jumping off spot for many things to do on Cape Breton. The room was rustic but quiet and convenient

We stayed for one night at Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort. The staff were very friendly & helpful, and the mac and cheese at dinner was amazing! The garbage/recycling sorting facilities were a plus! We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the room, however, as there were hairs in the bed. We had stayed in quite a small room, so that seemed a bit odd. All in all, it was a good price,

The dinner meals were amazing. I had halibut one night and salmon the next. It was served with fresh vegetables from the garden. I had soup and mussels as appetizers and both were fabulous. The breakfast was very underwhelming, cold frittata and French toast with Aunt Jemima syrup ,no fresh fruit as promised. Our server Pierre was polite, efficient and kind. My room,6a ,had a moldy smell. The a/c filters were caked with dust ( I cleaned them out myself) and the patio door to the outdoor did not lock. I reported it to the front desk, nothing was done so I had to secure the door myself.

I really liked the location and setting. It's perfect for someone looking to be fully immersed in nature. It's quiet, calm, and natural in every way. Staff were friendly and helpful. The remote beach behind the resort grounds is not to be missed - gorgeous! Saw a bald eagle perched on driftwood fairly early in the morning. I thought my mattress was a bit too thin and the springs quite noticeable. I was able to sleep okay, but it kept coming to my attention that it might be time to replace. I thought the continental breakfast was a bit uninspired. It was okay, but there wasn't much about it had me enthused about having breakfast the next morning. What was being called pumpkin bread was really marble rye swirl with pumpernickel.

Room was small, my spouse that is 6’3 could barely stand to use the bathroom. We tried to find the beach but it wasn’t clearly marked so we couldn’t find it. Breakfast was gone when we went into the dining area at 8:30am there was only 2 pieces of bread out and no milk for the cereal and only 2 couples were sitting in the dining room. Was very disappointed.

Unique property, staff was friendly and accommodating and there was a nice breakfast provided in the morning. Kids liked staying here, as there were 3 beds in our room so they didn't have to share. Our only complaint would be the bugs and spiders in the room. It is a "cottage style" vibe, so if you are looking for fancy, it might not be your place.

Paul was very welcoming and accommodating, made us sandwich plates since the restaurant was not technically open that day. They have pet friendly facilities which is great. The grounds and trails to the shore were fun as well. We had spent 2 days on the go and we were able to actually unwind. Our unit had no tv and we did not miss it at all. 9/10 would recommend!

The staff was really nice and helpful but the food was def not as great as they claim nor are the rooms (we stayed in) old musty The bed springs were digging into our backs and we had some bug bites on us after the night (don’t think it was bed bugs) but the area was beautiful and once again the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating

Needs refurbishment and renovation

The place was good but the place was old and getting to our unit required us to gp through narrow stairs and small doors. Towels still have smell of sun screen. Washroom needs fixing as the toilet is shaky and leaking septic gas.

We had to take out our own garbage or be charged $25 to have housekeeping take it. This is just ridiculous!

This resort has yurts and domes as well as rooms in the lodge. The yurts and domes do not have their own baths. The lodge rooms where we were did. The room had a double bed and a single. The double was quite comfortable, the single not so much. Our room was on the bottom floor. There was a restaurant attached and the option to have a package with breakfast and dinner. Though we didn't have the package we did eat a breakfast and a couple of dinners. The food was excellent. They have music on Thursday and Saturday nights. We were there on Thursday. There was a Cape Britton traditional music group that was wonderful. There is a trail to a bay of the ocean. It is really quite nice. A combination of camping and lodge resort. It was one of the few places we stayed that had air conditioning and as it worked out was also the only time it was needed

We stayed in the tiny house and I found it to be not so clean. There was splash back on the toilet from someone vomiting...that was disgusting. The dining room had a dog wandering around, not okay with people dining. I found the food very expensive with limited amount and not very well cooked. Two green beans and four shreds of carrot does not warrant vegetables...four small cubes of potato and two small chicken thighs that were undercooked. Not happy with the food at all. I would not recommend this property.

Many niggling concerns that are easily fixed. Property is rustic, but does advertise as a "resort". Overall, accomodations are overpriced like most along the Cabot Trail. No soap or shampoo is made available. Guests don't always bring their own. Uncomfortable futon for bed (in fixed roof accomodation). Just a pitcher of drinking water. Extra charges for amenities such as kayaks - not always the case elsewhere. Extra charges for meals of course, but the dinners weren't exceptional. And the buffet breakfast..... there are photos circulating online.... the "buffet" (in name only) looked nothing like those. In actuality, it consisted of a plastic container of corn flakes, one of yogurt, a basket of small white bread slices, and a plate of scrambled eggs and two sausages delivered by staff. (A pancake could also be had.) Having another staffperson lying on the couch in the dining area reading her cellphone during meals is not particularly professional either.
