We had a good time at the Oasis at Grace Bay. This boutique hotel is very well maintained, and the staff absolutely lovely! Although not *on* the beach, they are very close and have a shuttle running all the time back and forth. They also have their own setup on the beach with umbrellas, lounge chairs, and staff. 2 pools with a fair amount of shade were pleasant to relax during the hot hours of the day.
Where we were a tiny bit disappointed was that there was 0 advance warning about a construction site very next to half the rooms, including the one we were in...I mean *very next* like 20ft away. The work was not overwhelmingly noisy, but enough to wake us up when they started at 7am. Our first morning was a Sunday so it wasn't a factor, and by Monday we felt it was too late to request a change. We would have appreciated better advanced communication on the topic.
And the second one was that technology was abundant in a freshly renovated hotel. We love that! But it wasn't always working to perfection. E.g. talking smoke detectors had to be removed from multiple room as they were all reporting false alarms. Ipad in every room loaded with information, but asking for an iCloud password from day 2, plenty of bikes but most un-usable, LED lighting in room flickering. Oh and don't forget to clear your Netflix password on exit, cause they won't.
I would definitely go back to this hotel, assuming they continue to improve on those technology challenges.
