hotel was very clean and comfortable. The property was beautiful. Bar/Pub staff was absolutely amazing, Michael, he took exceptional care of us ( a group of 4 feisty old sisters)! The only hiccup was the double room was down a flight of stairs (no elevator) which was a challenge for one sister to navigate. Over all a Superior place to stay.

I travel several times a year and rarely leave critical comments for a review. This hotel is beautiful and I love the historical aspect, but I left disappointed. The hotel was quiet, as there were only a few other people there the 1 night we stayed. Room was adequately clean, but could use a deep clean, as we had to squish a couple spiders in the bathroom and there were 2 small leaves in the made bed. The only employees we saw were the 1 person sitting at the desk each time we came and left. Each time, they had to be approached before they acknowledged us. Also, the room we had booked touted windows that opened. However, the windows opened to their event space which was an enclosed patio that looked like it was set up for a wedding. The grounds are beautiful, but couldn’t see them from the room. Breakfast was granola bars, prepackaged bowls of cereal, yogurt, slices of coffee cake, milk, orange juice, and coffee. If you have any food sensitivities, you do not have any options.

The outside appearance was nice. The inside just blah. Desk clerk, who was watching tv, told me quickly where the room was- up two sets of stairs, but did not offer any assistance with my bags. I’m a retiree and lugging stuff up was not easy for me. Room was clean but poorly decorated. View was nice. The internet worked only occasionally. Annoying. The front desk staff was not welcoming and downright rude. Continental breakfast- blah. It was an expensive place to stay and I had expected much more.
