Old but well kept hotel in a great location. Our room was quite small but comfortable. Good shower. You can have breakfast (not included) in a nearby bakery facing the waterfront. Staff was friendly and ready to accommodate an early check-in that we eventually did not need to use.

Do not go here if you are a light sleeper. Asked for a peaceful room, got an unwanted early wake up every morning at 5am. All the trash cars, cars, transportions, street workers heavily works at 7am at latest. So I wouldn’t book this again. Could also hear the talk and the snoring from other rooms as well, but the noise outside was more disturbing. The place, toilets, showers and the room was clean, almost spotles.

Solo female traveller.. definitely do Stockholm! Stay at the castle house! Central to everything! 20 min walk from Arlanda express train, super easy! Walk into the old town by the water. Lovely meatballs place 500 yards walk xalled gastabud! The best ever! I would definitely stay here again. I fell in love with Stockholm.

Bad parking availability if you arrive with a car. Not in, but very near, Gamla Stan for walkability and shopping. TINY rooms. Our first night was with a shared bathroom that was large, multi-sex (Americans are not use to this!) that had numerous stalls, and we never had to wait in line. Our next two nights had a private bathroom which was nice but hardly any space to move or store luggage. Comfortable bed, but I had to climb over my husband to get to my side by the window.

Location, location, location! This hotel is so well-situated that you can really walk anywhere within 15 minutes or less - shopping, bars, restaurants, you name it. Check in was easy and the staff was helpful with things like taxis. The property isn’t fancy but it’s clean and comfortable. There was a surprising amount of noise at night despite it being on a side street with no cars, so maybe bring earplugs. I wasn’t psyched about the shared bathroom (not sure how I missed that when making the reservation!) but it wasn’t that bad. I never saw another person in there. Bring shower shoes because the toilet and shower are in the same stall! Overall, I would recommend this hotel because of the good price and the excellent location. If you’re fancy, choose the en suite bathroom option or a different hotel ;-)

Pros: -good location in the old town -nighttables and outlets at each of the 4 beds (quad room) -comfortable beds -spacious, clean room -quiet area -nice staff Cons: -in room bathroom is a small all-in-one and the floor was always wet, which was a bit gross for a quad room -Squeegee hanging on the wall in the bathroom (!) -no vanity or counter space in the bathroom - sink sits on a wooden plank. -window curtains only provide privacy, not darkening (an issue in summer when there’s only ~4 hours of darkness) -dated looking (old rug, white walls with minimal decor) -old-fashioned elevator with accordion door -only way to communicate with staff is email or going to the front desk from ~8am - 10pm (no phone number) Like other small Scandinavian hotels, check-in later than 10pm requires coordination
