How have I never stayed at Foster's before? It's literally the most convenient place if you have shows at Studio or Avon Theaters. Plus, lovely rooms, great food, wonderful service--what more could one want? The after show Happy Hour was the most perfect way to end the day. I can't wait to return!

Fosters is our "go to" place to stay when we visit Stratford for the shows at the Festival. It is located practically right next door to two of the four theaters and is well within walking distance to the other two. Craig Foster recently sold the hotel he had founded well over 20 years ago (I'm guessing) and it is now managed by Mercers, another fine establishment in Stratford. Over the past year Mercers has been beautifully redoing the rooms and upgrading the bathrooms! The restaurant at Fosters is very, very nice and serves 4 star meals!

Overall the stay was great. Staff is wonderful and the restaurant bar is our favorite stop for drinks before heading off to plays. We have used this property before and the location can not be beaten. My only issue is there was a hold for the full stay amount plus an additional $200 for room charges. Then on check out we were charged the room rate amount. It has now been 7+ days and the fairly large hold is still pending. It is frustrating to have to review and confirm the amount is still not cleared off the card, but the charge was immediate.

I have stayed at Foster's many times in the past and was concerned that the renovations might have interfered with the charm. However the big difference was a majorly upgraded bathroom and a few cleaner lines. The antiques and comfy furniture (including the bed) remained. Improvements all around. The staff didn't need any renovation, they were as helpful and friendly as they've always been. I'm returning to the festival twice more during the summer and am very glad I booked into Foster's, I'm eager to return.
